The Career Day event at Mmofraturo Girls Boarding School was organized with the primary objective of exposing our students to a wide range of professions, fostering their curiosity about the world of work, and helping them make informed decisions about their future careers. The event took place in the school Park, where different professionals set up interactive booths to engage students and share insights about their respective careers.

Activities and Highlights:

Guest Speakers: We were honored to host professionals from diverse fields, including doctors, engineers, artists, scientists, police officers, firefighters, entrepreneurs, and more. Each guest speaker shared their personal and professional experiences, highlighting the skills, qualifications, and passion required for their respective careers. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the speakers, gaining valuable firsthand knowledge.

Interactive Booths: Professionals at each booth set up interactive displays, demonstrations, and hands-on activities related to their professions. For instance, the science booth had exciting experiments, the art booth allowed students to unleash their creativity, and the healthcare booth demonstrated basic first aid techniques. The BECE assesses students’ knowledge and skills in various subjects and is a crucial examination as it determines the placement of students into senior high schools (SHS) and technical institutions.

As of my last update in January 2022, the BECE format includes multiple-choice questions, written essays, and practical examinations in subjects like English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Social Studies, and several electives such as Agricultural Science, French, and ICT (Information and Communication Technology).
